Biblical Verses of Sobriety

Not everyone has religious faith, and not all that do have faith are necessarily Christian. However, passages from the Christian Bible have long been associated with the track to sobriety and the book contains a lot of inspiration for those in recovery. Below are some Biblical passages that can inspire faith in believers and provide the rest with age-old tokens of wisdom.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

James 4:7

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Ephesians 6:11

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”

1 John 2:15

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

Romans 13:13

“Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.”

Matthew 24:42

“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”

Matthew 25:13

Genesis 3:1-24

Genesis 3:1-24

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God actually say, “You shall not eat of any tree in the garden”’And the woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, “You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.”’But the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’”
